p   Accomplishments include the successful evangelization (upper mgmt), design and installation of ESX 3.0i and the initiation of Sharepoint for a document management system to improve corporate communication.

 

    Kaiser Permanente | Walnut Creek, CA

         Citrix Server Engineer (Contract Assignment) | October 2005 to March 2006

p   Consulting Engineer for the “Build team” on Kaiser's Citrix large server farm (~1500 servers); responsibilities included: migration testing, build management and package deployment.  The primary focus was a migration/split from a single to seven farms; tested, documented and packaged RFCs and SRs for various application and server transition issues.

p   Selected to co-manage two application servers: PTA and JPOINT (Health Information Software: Project Tracking and Point of Sale).  These HIS EPIC apps required “retrofitting” for Terminal Services to get them functioning properly in the Citrix environment. 

p   Managed AD, GPO and Local/Mandatory/Roaming Profiles; VMWare for testing prior to implementation.  Farm policy; patch and hotfix management; packaging (IM); resource manager (RM); Access Gateways; SQL Servers (Data Store, DB Connector Servers), XML Servers, and Web Interface.

         GIS Systems Consultant (Contract Assignment) | February 2005 to August 2005

p   GIS Project Management for the City’s Wastewater Department; advisor for the city's Public Works Department move toward an RDBMS and a better Application Infrastructure.  Geodatabase management with Microsoft Access and ArcMap customization with VBA and SQL.

p   Planned, designed, prototyped and implemented their first MS 2003 Terminal Services and Citrix Presentation Server (v. 4.0).  Trained IT staff on all aspects of Citrix roll-outs.

    SAIC | La Jolla, CA

        Software Engineer | April 1998 to February 1999

p   Assisted in the integration of 2- and 3-D Geographic Information Systems capabilities on a

project involving Battlefield Exercise Monitoring custom software developed in OOA/OOD/OOP

with Rational Rose, Visual C++ (MFC, Win32), MapObjects, GeoPres, and TerraVista (terrain

database software - 3D GIS). Also, researched NT Terminal Server Beta edition to simplify

software design for ASP-style, Server-based GIS applications.

 

p   On a contract bid for BellSouth, developed a service vehicle tracking prototype application

using Arcview involving Battlefield Internet Map Server, Netscape’s Web Server, ESRI’s Map
